The Youth Board is an exciting opportunity for young people who wish to make a direct difference to Tokko Youth Space and it’s future. The Youth Board is made up of approximately 10 young people aged 13-19, (up to 24 with a disability). They are the youth voice at the heart of our organisation and feed into TOKKO as well as disseminate information to young people.
Two youth board members sit on the Independent Board; who are the overall decision making body of TOKKO; as a charity ensuring that young people are involved at all levels and their voice is heard and taken into account.
Youth Board achievements include: involvement in the initial bid and build of TOKKO, choosing the architect and location of the building, deciding the final fixtures and fittings, fundraising and community support as well as getting involved in activities and volunteering. As you can see it is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference within a positive youth focused charity. The Youth Board are now in their next phase where they plan the holiday activities, support and create charity events and work with other young people and partners to build on the good work of TOKKO and ensure that it is responsive to the needs of local young people.
