Counselling

We provide a safe and confidential environment for young people aged 10-18 years old.

We offer 1-2-1 talking therapies with a qualified counsellor in partnership with Sorted Counselling. It allows young people to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
We help the young person to discover their own solutions and ways of coping so they gain the confidence in their own ability and develop the skills that will aid and support them through this difficult period and throughout their life.

What’s counselling like at Tokko?

Counselling at TOKKO is short-term intervention counselling (6 weeks).

It allows young people to share their problems in a confidential environment while being treated with respect based on an understanding of their individual culture and background.

The counsellors build a relationship of trust with the clients so that they are able to explore the difficulties which may include the stressful or emotional feelings of the client, this will then help the client to see things more clearly, possibly from a different view-point.

As the clients have the right to control their own lives, the fully qualified counsellors will not tell the young people what to do but they will help them act on their own decisions, to make positive steps to achieve positive outcomes in a safe environment.

  • Young People must be registered with a GP in Luton and be between the ages of 10 and 18.
  • Sessions are FREE and available by appointment only.
