Young Parents Project

The Young Parents (aged up to 25 yrs living in Luton) project provides a specialised programme, specific to the individual needs of young parents and young parents to be in Luton.

The Young Parent Co-ordinator  provides guidance, support and advice on a range of issues and difficulties that young parents may face daily, including housing; knowing what benefits they are entitled to; going back to education and finding work to name a few. The Young Parent team support mothers and fathers experiencing abusive relationships, offering access to the Freedom programme. The Young Parent team are able to advocate for parents/ parents to be during multi agency meetings, including CP (Child Protection); CIN (Child in Need); TAF (Team around the Family) and any other meeting where they may need additional, emotional support.

The team are able to refer young parents on to other supportive agencies that can provide additional support.  Working closely with statutory agencies; IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) and Health Visitors; the project aims to provide the highest quality of support in order to increase opportunities for young parents that lay a firm foundation to raise aspirations.
