TOKKO - Youth Participation Officer - Closing Date: Midnight 17/03/2024

As a Youth Participation Officer at Tokko Youth Space, you’ll have a profound impact on the lives of young people in Luton. Your work will directly contribute to:

  • Engaging and empowering vulnerable young people in structured youth programmes.
  • Engaging, planning and delivering specific activities with professionals, educational establishments and organisations, with the aim of working in partnership to meet the needs of vulnerable young people.
  • Undertaking outreach, working directly with children and young people most in need in identified wards.
  • Creating pathways to Tokko services and activities for those most in need.
  • Promoting equality and inclusion in all aspects of our work.

You’ll be at the forefront of addressing challenges such as child poverty and complex social issues, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

 

Your Skills:

We’re looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, skills, and experience to the role. Key skills and attributes include:

  • Experience of working in a statutory and/or voluntary youth work setting within a multi cultural environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of youth engagement strategies and best practices.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate complex challenges and changing environments.
