Tokko Youth Hub has been awarded three years of funding from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities programme, helping the charity continue and expand its vital work with young people across Luton.

Based in Luton town centre, Tokko provides a safe, inclusive space for young people aged 13–19, or up to 24 for those with SEND or young parents. Last year alone, Tokko supported 942 young people with more than 5,000 hours of youth work, helping them improve wellbeing, gain qualifications, reduce isolation, and move into education, training, or employment. The charity also recently achieved the National Youth Agency Gold Standard Quality Mark. CEO Aimee Djengiz said:

This funding provides vital stability over the next three years, allowing us to continue delivering safe spaces, trusted relationships, and high-quality support for young people across Luton. At a time when many young people are facing increasing challenges, this investment ensures we can both sustain and strengthen our offer—supporting young people to build confidence, improve their wellbeing, and move towards positive futures. We are proud to stand alongside our partners and the communities we serve to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and supported.”

With 65% of the young people it supports living in Luton’s most deprived wards, Tokko plays a crucial role in helping young people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. The charity also leads key partnership work locally, including chairing the Children and Young People’s Network.
